Synopsis: Hunter Rhodes was loved by everyone in town. Eliza had worshipped from afar, knowing she wasn’t good enough for him. The night before he shipped out she wrote him a letter. A letter that went into detail what she wanted to do to him and what she wanted him to do to her. She never expected a response and never got one. Then Hunter went into combat and disappeared. Presumed Dead the town mourned him. Then Hunter came back after a year of being captured. He was changed, not the same man as before. He was dark, full of scars and damaged. But he came back with one thing, the letter Eliza had given him and he wanted to act out everything and more. But what would it cost Eliza?

First let’s tackle the characters. Eliza is a cute little thing working in a coffee shop just going through life working at this hourly job, for some reason she just can’t seem to find a job in what she got a degree for and she isn’t really trying to branch out of her small town.  Hunter on the other hand is this hero coming back from combat but not coming back the same man that left. He’s dark and rough, and he acts like it too. They’re relationship is interesting since he never specifies what kind of relationship they have when he comes for her. They have a connection but it’s one they can’t come out and be together. They have to work through a lot and some of that stems from him needing to open up about what happened to him. Then there’s Sophie, she is Eliza’s friend and Hunter’s Ex. She comes from money and seems to be a bit self-centered and selfish. While she is friends with Eliza you can tell, there are times when she just wants everything about her. She was hard to like.

Even though I enjoyed this book, I felt like it needed a little more story background to it. The characters were good and I felt like they had a lot of potential, it just slightly felt like we were only given a glimpse in to them. I would have love to have seen more on how Eliza met Hunter the first time or ow she slipped him the note. Something like this would have given the story a little more meat. Also, I think it would be interesting to see how Eliza and Sophie met and how they even became friends from there. There’s a lot more that could have been added that would have given the story more meat. I did like the story for what it is and would have liked more.
