Synopsis: Hungry, abandoned, wandering, and alone. An adolescent street rat fighting for crumbs. Then a chance encounter changed my entire world. A man in an expensive suit asked me how much my life was worth. I didn’t have an answer, because I didn’t know. He asked if I thought it was worth killing for.

Impulsively, I said yes… He found me, then fostered me, and in the interim turned me into a killing machine. A modern day La Femme Nikita. Now, I only have one mission. To avenge the death of the man who saved me. There’s an invisible war on the streets. Us against them. Family against family. Power against power. They call me Ghostface Killer because they never see me coming. I understand the weight of that danger. Because now here I stand, three months pregnant with the barrel of a gun pressed to my head cause I never saw him coming…-Amazon

Ghostface Killer was an amazing story. Amazing but really dark. If you aren’t a fan of dark series I would say this probably isn’t your cup of tea, then. OK with that out of the way good grief this book was pretty dark and it also had you afraid to put it down. The story itself was really complex, with a bunch of twists that had you going “WTF”.

Stevie has had such a crappy start to life that, you don’t know if she’ll make it from 14 to an adult. A lot of dark things happen and then she’s taken in by Benny. Benny is an older man, part of a mafia family and he fosters her, teaches her how to be a killer. He saves her from one hell just to be in another really. She does as he says and kills who he says. She’s just a ghost, no one sees her and no one knows what she looks like but she the badest bad ass out there. Down this road, Benny is killed and she is sent out to exact revenge for his death.  Along the way one of her hits is Benjamin or Baz, and her life is flipped from there. She falls in love and that just messes everything even more.

Stevie is such a complicated character and you just want her to eventually find happiness because of all the shit she’s dealt with. You also see what a bad-ass she is and how because of what she was taught she is ruthless when she must be. When she meets Baz a whole different side shows. She can care for someone, she doesn’t need to be alone, her skills can be used to protect the ones she cares for instead of hurting. Baz is also a crazy character, he’s kind caring and has a dark past as well but whereas Stevie lived in it, Baz tried to get away. He has many different aspects and they all come in handy through the book. They’re love keeps them together and even though there are many bumps in the road they seem to make it work.

I really enjoyed this book and its characters, but man those twists will get you so bad. I read this book in probably 2 hours because I just couldn’t put it down. Every time I tried something would happen that would have me saying one more chapter.
