I’m not going to lie here: I’m pretty excited about the new Castlevania animated mini-series that is going to begin on Netflix on July 7th as part of their Netflix Originals line. And this new trailer for the series looks as though the creators behind this series are putting their best foot forward in order to appease the fans of this iconic video game franchise.
I won’t sit here and try to guess as to the story and lore behind this trailer, but from what I can see going on in the trailer it all looks pretty intense. The dark atmosphere, the voice acting, the music that accompanies the trailer: this is the kind of entertainment and quality that fans expect from their offerings. Hopefully showrunner Adi Shankar (the executive producer behind films like The Grey, Dredd, and A Walk Among the Tombstones) and the animation studio Frederator Studios (Adventure Time, Bee and Puppycat) as well as veteran comic book scribe and series writer Warren Ellis (Hellblazer, Iron Man: Extremis, The Authority) will treat and handle this series with the respect it deserves. But looking at the people behind this series it looks as though that it is in very capable hands.
