I am eagerly anticipating seeing Wonder Woman this weekend. It’s safe to say, especially given word of mouth, that Wonder Woman is easily the best film in the DC Extended Universe of films. And going back to Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, Gal Gadot’s portrayal of the iconic character was one of the best things that film presented. And given that this is a period piece, in a way, these are always some of my favorite kinds of films. With many more numerous reasons as to why I am excited to see this new superhero film, it easily makes this my most anticipated film of the month of June.
The Mummy
Directed by: Alex Kurtzman
Produced by: Perfect World Pictures

Starring: Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Sofia Boutella, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, Marwan Kenzari, Russell Crowe
Genre: Action, Adventure
Release date: June 9, 2017
Run time: 107 minutes
Man, I am a sucker for monster movies. I am also a fan of Tom Cruise. So put them both together in this new interpretation of a classic horror film and I am definitely excited to see this film. Looking at the trailers for the film, and especially the way that actress Sofia Boutella looks as this new version of the mummy, it looks like this may be a great start for Universal’s planned Monster Universe of films. I mean, anything is probably going to be better than those Brendan Fraiser films – hopefully Cruise, Boutella and Russell Crowe can make The Mummy a monster film fans will enjoy.
Cars 3
Directed by: Brian Fee

Distributed by: Walt Disney Studios
Starring: Owen Wilson, Cristela Alonzo, Armie Hammer, Larry the Cable Guy, Bonnie Hunt
Genre: Animation, Comedy
Release date: June 16, 2017

I am not so much as excited for this film as I am in seeing my kids faces’ as they watch it. I’m not a huge fan of the Cars franchise, but my kids can’t get enough of it. So, because they are excited to see Cars 3, well, by default, I am excited to see it. Though I would say that I am more curious as to see if Disney/Pixar is going to actually add some story to this franchise or are they just going to continue to use this film as a toy producing cash cow as the two previous Cars films have been used.
Transformers: The Last Knight

I know I am probably just setting myself up for disappointment once again as a fan of this franchise… but dammit if I am just not some kind of hopeful Transformers fanboy hoping, praying even, that the next film will be the one to finally do this beloved franchise some justice. But I am still steeling myself for what will probably be the inevitable outcome and have to endure more disappointment after seeing this film. Still, I have this sort of cautious excitement to watch Transformers: The Last Knight – I just hope that Michael Bay can finally deliver the film that fans deserve. If anything, at least it will be a nice popcorn munching action flick.
Baby Driver
Directed by: Edgar Wright
Produced by: Working Title Films
Distributed by: TriStar Pictures
Starring: Ansel Elgort, Kevin Spacey, Lily James, Eiza González, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, Jon Bernthal
Genre: Action, Adventure
Release date: June 28, 2017
Run time: 113 minutes
I’ll admit that I know very little about Baby Driver than for what I have seen in the trailers released for the film. But they sure do look action packed and exciting, and seeing as how the film is being directed by Edgar Wright – yeah, that would be enough to tickle my fancy and curiosity. I wish I knew more about this film, but I think that would ruin it for me, so for right now I am content knowing the basic premise, the stars and the director and I will just kinda hope for the best when I go see this film when it is released.
