Fortnite #ShareTheLove Event is Here – And I Am Happy About the New Content Being Introduced

So, mere minutes after I finished the Fortnite Battle Royale Season 7 Week 10 challenges (thus completing all of the challenges in Season 7) and bragged about it on my social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), I saw this announcement on the Epic Games website about additional challenges that will be coming to Fortnite Battle Royale today during the #ShareTheLove event. Running from February 8 through February 27, this new event will add additional challenges with new rewards for completing them. That’s pretty cool seeing as how there are still nineteen days until Season 7 ends and Season 8 begins, so having some new challenges to push players who have finished everything for Season 7 so far (players like myself), these new challenges and rewards are the perfect incentive for players to continue playing Fortnite Battle Royale continuously until the season ends.

Support-A-Creator Rewards

This is for both players who currently support a Creator and those who will start to support one for this event, all you have to do is enter a Creator Code between February 8 – 22 to receive the free Cuddle Hearts Wrap as skins for vehicles and weapons. Players will then receive the item wrap when the version 7.40 update releases. So, if you haven’t supported a Creator yet, or if you do just remember to update your Support-A-Creator Code and be ready to receive this adorable Wrap when the time comes.

Season 7 Overtime Challenges & Rewards

Are you like me and completed your 10 weekly Challenges for Season 7 and are looking for more? Well, Fortnite Battle Royale has you covered because starting with the version 7.40 release, all players will have access to new, additional Overtime Challenges. If you complete these new Challenges by the end of Season 7 you will unlock five new rewards including the Valentine Wrap and Vines Contrail. And if you happen to also be a Season 7 Battle Pass owner, these new Overtime Challenges include rewards that will unlock new styles for the Trog, Powder, and Onesie outfits. That’s really cool because, as you can see from the image below, these new styles for these outfits look extremely cool.

Double XP Weekends

This is a huge bonus because the last time Fortnite Battle Royale had a Double XP Weekend was back at the end of Season 6 – at least that’s the last time I remember them having it. But anyway, all players will receive double XP during the weekends of February 15 –17 and February 22 – 24. That’s two full weekends before the end of Season 7 to really jump into the game and level up your Battle Pass before the season ends. So, if you haven’t unlocked all 100 tiers of the Season 7 Battle Pass just yet, you should really take advantage of these Double XP weekends to finish up and get that exclusive Ice King outfit.

Featured Island Frenzy

Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of the Creative mode for Fortnite Battle Royale, but I know a lot of the Fortnite community are, so it’s worth mentioning here: as a way of celebrating the diverse and immense brilliance of the Fortnite community creators. When you enter Creative mode during this event in Fortnite Battle Royale, you will be greeted with a rotating set of new featured islands that will appear in the mode every single day of the event. The Featured Island Frenzy will start on February 12 and end on February 22. So, show your support for these Creators by jumping into Creative each day and playing a few rounds with friends. I already promised my kids that we will try a few of these new islands when the event begins, so maybe these new distinct maps and games might change my mind on how I see the Creative mode for the game.

Share the Love Competitive Series

As part of the “Share the Love” event, Fortnite Battle Royale is introducing the “Share the Love” Competitive SeriesFortnite will run several placement matches on the weekend of February 9 and 10, and will then be placing the top performers for the weekend directly into the higher divisions based on their performance. Some new features in the tournament system will be utilized during the “Share the Love” Competitive Series with more unlocking with the version 7.40 update.

The Competition will be split across four separate divisions which will run simultaneously each day:

  • Open Division
  • Prospect Division
  • Contender Division
  • Champion Division

Players will unlock the next division in the competition by earning a pin during any daily session. Players who manage to earn a pin during a Champion Division session will unlock access to the Champion Division Finals that is set to take place February 23 and 24.

Also, players should be on the lookout for special sprays related to the “Share the Love” Competitive Series for each division of the competition.

Personally, I won’t be trying out the “Share the Love” Competitive Series because I am not that good a player. I have less than thirty overall Victory Royale wins over the course of the seventeen months that I have been playing Fortnite Battle Royale (I mostly play for the fun of it and I happen to be more of a bush and tree camper than actively seeking out fights), but if you are a hardcore or competitive player, then this new competition should be something you should be willing to try out. Ugh, though I might still try my hand at the Competitive Series to try and obtain these new exclusive sprays.

So, in closing, the “Share the Love” event is all about the Fortnite Battle Royale player community – this is a season ending event that is here to reward the player base with new challenges, new modes, and new rewards, so go ahead and enjoy it. The #ShareTheLove event ends on Wednesday, February 27 – right before the arrival of Season 8, so load up, grab your favorite load out, and get to fighting, my friends – this seems like it’s going to be one of the best ends to a season in Fortnite Battle Royale yet. And, hey – if you wanna squad up with me during the “Share the Love” event, look for me on PSN as RJAC1978 and on Epic Games as gXp_RJAC1978. I guess the only question now is, “Where we dropping, boys?”
