10 Minecraft Earth Mobs That Should Be Imported To Minecraft

As I spoke about recently here on geekXpop, Mojang has made the decision to shut down their mobile augmented reality app Minecraft Earth, in part due to how the near worldwide global pandemic and lockdown adversely affect how and when the app could be played. And while I am deeply saddened to see Minecraft Earth shut down, I understand the decision. Still, it has left me wondering what, if anything, should be done with the numerous unique Minecraft Earth exclusive mobs that are found within the app. Because, truth be told, there are quite a few unique mobs in the app that I think would be great imported additions to the regular Minecraft game. Aside from being visually striking and varied from regular Minecraft mobs, I believe that with a few tweaks and changes, these mobs, if given the chance, could add some real diversity and variation to the mobs already found in the game proper. So, I hope you enjoy my list of the 10 Minecraft Earth Mobs That Should Be Imported To Minecraft Earth.

Honorable Mentions: Bone Spider, Glow Squid, Horned Sheep, Lobber Zombie, Rainbow Sheep

Hostile Mobs

There aren’t too many different Hostile Mobs found in Minecraft Earth that aren’t already in Minecraft. Most are just variants of the same ole Zombie players deal with constantly in the game. However, these three Hostile Mobs that I have listed below are certainly my favorites in the game that I would like to see imported over to freshen up the game just a little bit.

Skeleton Wolf

As much of a fan as I am of the Wolf mob in Minecraft, I think that the addition of the Skeleton Wolf would be a great one, especially since it cannot be tamed as its passive cousin can be. Also, the Skeleton Wolf should continually be a hostile mob, attacking the player whenever they are spotted. They should only spawn at night during a full and new moon and can be found in packs of 2 to 4 which attack the player as a pack. Also, when defeated, the Skeleton Wolf should drop both XP and bones for the player.

Tropical Slime

Another mob that I would love to see imported from Minecraft Earth to Minecraft would be the Tropical Slime. Not only does the Tropical Slime look a hell of a lot better than its greener cousin, but with the changes I am suggesting being made to this mob would be a lot more enticing for the player to engage with. It should be a hostile mob that attacks the player when spotted instead of simply being Neutral. It should also come in three sizes, just like normal Slime mobs. And lastly, it should only be found in Ocean biomes and along the beaches in the Overworld. When defeated, Tropical Slime should drop Tropical Fish and Blue Slime Balls that have the same effect as regular Slime Balls, as well as dropping XP for the player as well.

Viler Witch

As far as I am concerned, once a player reaches iron level weapons and armor, the Witch mobs are far too easy to defeat. That’s why I would love to see the Viler Witch mob come to Minecraft to make it slightly more difficult for players to defeat. They should not be found at witch huts but instead all over the overworld at nighttime. They should use stronger, lingering poisons on the player as well as use invisibility and healing potions on themselves. When the player defeats a Viler Witch, the mob should drop Glowstone Dust, Sugar, Redstone, Gunpowder, and Lapis Lazuli in addition to XP.

Neutral Mobs

Truth be told, with the exception of the Neutral Mob that I list here, the other that are found in Minecraft Earth just don’t quite appeal to me at all. And while I was not a fan of the Glow Squid, the fact that it was voted on by Minecraft fans during Minecraft Live and won elated me to see that it would be the first Minecraft Earth mob to make it to Minecraft proper.

Furnace Golem

There are a few changes that I would make to the Furnace Golem if they were to import it from Minecraft Earth to Minecraft. First, to construct an Iron Golem, it should be similar to a regular Iron Golem except with a Blast Furnace placed at its center. Next, the player should feed it coal or other fuels to enact its attack effect as well as being able to smelt items in the Furnace Golem when fueled. The Furnace Golem should attack hostile mobs with physical as well as fire damage. Like its cousin, the Furnace Golem should be neutral until attacked by the player. When defeated, the Furnace Golem should drop either Coal and/or Torches, as well as XP for the player.

Passive Mobs

If you have played Minecraft Earth at all you would know that the Passive Mobs in the game really don’t offer up much variety to the gameplay other than having interesting variants of their regular Passive Mob cousins in regular Minecraft. That being said, with the Passive Mobs that I have listed here, I have also included a few ways to utilize them in the game that would make it worth the player’s while to collect them in the game.

Ashen Cow

The text description for the Ashen Cow in Minecraft Earth states, “Although its hide is dark and ashy, no creepers exploded near this cow.” And that got me thinking: what if Mojang tweaked that sentence a bit and made it so that the Ashen Cow have a kind of calming effect on Creepers so that the don’t explode within a certain vicinity of this mob at all. Because of that effect, the Ashen Cow should be a lot rarer than regular Cows and should be bred by using an entire Hay Bale instead of just Wheat. I think that having a Mob like this would certainly entice players to keep one or two of these Mobs around to protect their builds.

Cluckshroom

Honestly, with the Cluckshroom, I would keep it exactly the same in Minecraft as it is in Minecraft Earth. When the Cluckshroom walks around it leaves a trail of Red Mushrooms behind it. Players can then collect the Red Mushrooms it drops as well as an occasional Egg to add just a little more variety to the drops that this Mob could offer. And, killing the Cluckshroom would also have it drop Raw Chicken, adding to its usefulness in the game.

Dairy Cow

If it were up to me, by adding the Dairy Cow to Minecraft, I would also change something to the regular Cows found in Minecraft. Dairy Cows could be milked for a Bucket of Milk while regular Cows would be renamed Brown Cows and could be milked for Chocolate Milk. It would be a funny take on a common misconception by some Americans about where certain milks come from, but it would add some variety to the game. And to differentiate the two milks, regular Milk would saturate more than Chocolate Milk would while Chocolate Milk would satisfy Hunger more than regular Milk would. And both would retain the effect of removing all Status Effects from the player.

Fancy Chicken

In Minecraft Earth the Fancy Chicken doesn’t do anything special other than dropping a pretty looking purple-colored Fancy Feather to use as a decoration in builds. The change that I would make to the Fancy Chicken, or more specifically the Fancy Feathers it drops would be that the Fancy Feathers would come in three colors: yellow, green, and purple – and, when used to make arrows, would add a certain Status Effect to those arrows corresponding with the colored Fancy Feather used to craft them – much like Tipped Arrows. Yellow Fancy Feathers could be used to craft an Arrow of Fire Resistance. Green Fancy Feathers could be used to craft an Arrow of Luck. And Purple Fancy Feathers could be used to craft an Arrow of Night Vision. This would greatly entice a player to seek out and keep this rare Fancy Chicken near their home bases.

Fuzzy Sheep

When it comes to the Fuzzy Sheep mob in Minecraft, I would simply do two things to it to make it worth while to collect. First, it would be a slightly rarer variant of Sheep to find across the world and would only spawn in the Plains, Sunflower Plains, and Flower Forest Biomes in the overworld. Second, I would make it so that it would drop 2 to 3 times as much Wool as a regular Sheep. Also, their Wool could be dyed any color, as with its regular cousin. Imagine what an automated Sheep farm would be like then with these Fuzzy Sheep, making it much more incentivized for players to want to collect them for their bases.

Muddy Pig

Ah, the Muddy Pig. This is a Mob that I have put quite a bit of thought into while exploring how to make it viable within Minecraft. For the Muddy Pig to work in Minecraft I would like Mojang to introduce the concept of Mud to the game. Mud would be just like Soul Sand in that it slows down the player’s movement speed just a bit. But in addition to affecting the player, Mud would also affect all Mobs in the game. As such, having a Muddy Pig by your home base would mean that eventually the Mob would turn most Grass and Dirt blocks it walks over into Mud blocks that a player can strategically use to defend a certain area: like the entrance near their home or an area around a Village. Players could avoid this effect by equipping Leather Boots. Also, because the Muddy Pig would live in, well, Mud, when a Muddy Pig is killed by a player, it drops Spoiled Pork, unusable by the player giving them little reason to kill this mob. Also, because of its nature, the Muddy Pig would only be found in Swamp Biomes or by Rivers alongside Dirt blocks.

And those are my choices for the 10 Minecraft Earth Mobs That Should Be Imported To Minecraft. If you’re a Minecraft fan, let me know what you think. Do you agree with my assessments here? Do you agree with some of the changes I made to these mobs and the game? Do you think that any mobs should be imported from Minecraft Earth to Minecraft at all? Let me know what you think in the comments below, and I will see you all next time.
